Hatha yoga

Hatha Yoga is a style of yoga that has been practiced for thousands of years. Although it has a spiritual foundation, Hatha Yoga is known primarily as a physical practice. This is because many Western yoga styles are built on the principles of Hatha Yoga, particularly through the inclusion of asanas (physical exercises) and pranayama (breathing exercises). 

Hatha yoga classes often have specific characteristics: The asanas are performed individually and not in smooth transitions (flows). The focus is on performing the postures mindfully and consciously, which often results in a gentler practice that is particularly suitable for beginners. A typical Hatha yoga class usually includes meditation, breathing exercises, a warm-up phase, several asanas and a final relaxation phase.
