Your everyday top 3 meditation techniques
We asked Mindfullife which meditation techniques are particularly easy to implement in everyday life. Here we share 3 valuable techniques with you that will help you go through the day more consciously:
Conscious hearing
Each day, we encounter new sensory experiences. Digitalization, in particular, grants us the ability to access media at any moment. However, we often struggle to fully process the vast array of stimuli.
Background noise is a constant presence, making meditation accessible at any moment. Take a deliberate pause to focus solely on the sounds around you. Start by concentrating on nearby tones and sounds, then gradually expand your awareness outward.
Try to just observe sounds without judging them.
Walking meditation
Walking also comes naturally to most people. Through walking, we traverse from one point to another, promoting our physical well-being.
What makes walking meditation unique is its seamless integration into everyday life. Whether you're casually strolling or purposefully moving, these activities can be opportunities to train both your mind and body.
Maintain an upright posture and steady footing as you walk. Keep your eyes open and concentrate on the sensation of walking.
Gratitude meditation
Sometimes, we become so engrossed in our daily routines that we overlook the beautiful aspects of our lives and feel as though we're missing out on special moments. This often leads to unnecessary stress. To counteract this, take a moment at the end of the day to reflect. Recall the experiences you had, observing them without judgment.
Next, choose one thing from the day that you're grateful for. It doesn't have to be anything major—just a small moment that brought you some joy. It could be a situation, a person, or something else entirely.
Once you find that one thing, find two other things that occurred that day that you are grateful for.
Depending on the day, you can adapt the gratitude meditation. You can make it longer or shorter.
